"The Day the Music Died" Ted Seminara sent these 2 Photos of the
Demolition of the Danbury Racearena.
Ted Seminara sent these photos awhile ago. I'm finally getting around to posting them.
I was reluctant at first to even put them on the site. I emailed Ted back and stated,
" I don't think this is a good idea posting some depressing photos of the demolition
of the Danbury Fairgrounds" This was Ted's response....
THE REASON I WOULD POST IT , IS TO SHOW THE MANY PEOPLE
WHO MAY NOT HAVE HAD THE HONOR TO ATTEND...SINCE YOU HAVE
SURFERS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY, IT WOULD GIVE THEM
A FEEL FOR WHAT WE MISS...
Ted Seminara is a freelance photographer working for the Area Auto Racing News currently
covering Winston Cup & Busch Grand National events and isn't afraid to show or tell it
like it is. He's 100% correct in that, these photos do show what we all miss and we
will probably see even more tracks go away as time goes by. Maybe we need to
go to a few more Short Track Races this year and support the tracks and
hopefully this may keep them going instead of the promoter giving
up because of the lack of fans in the stands?
It's not the only reason that the tracks
are closing, but it can't hurt.
